Happy January everyone! Hopefully everyone made it through the holidays unscathed, healthy and stoked for another year of guitar playing, fixing and building! I know I made it through relatively well, but I have to say, I may have put a couple holiday pounds on….if only guitar playing burnt more calories!!!!
So, it’s January, and that means it’s time for the team here at Solo to get on an airplane and head to California for the 2025 NAMM Show. We have meetings lined up for the entire time we will be there, so hopefully there will be some exciting new products to discuss soon. If we are lucky, there will be some down time to take in some of the amazing entertainment that always punctuates the NAMM experience. Look at me saying ‘we’…. I’m actually not going again due to some family issues, but I’ll be there in spirit, and if the stars align, I will go in 2026.
What else is new in the Solo world? Well, the newly modified website is live…have you noticed? We have been working hard at keeping the website fresh and streamlined so we can offer our products in a simpler and more efficient manner. The Homepage has changed slightly with the ‘Browse Categories’ having been improved, the ‘Share Your Solo’ section going live and more larger photos in the ‘Latest Products’ section. The shopping experience has changed in that your Shopping Cart can be viewable on the right side of the page, complete with a running subtotal for your convenience. The catalogue section has more products per page as well…5 across rather than the 3 we used to show, which allows you to see more items faster. All in all, it’s been a lot of work, but as they say…’you’re worth it’…meaning you our Solo family.
What’s coming up in the Blog? Well I have lined up several interviews (as promised) with people in this industry you may or may not know… one will be with one of the hardest working guitar techs out there who has worked with bands like Treble Charger, and Sam Roberts here in Canada to monster bands like Lamb of God, Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch on the US side. Another will be with a recording artist, guitar player, teacher and product rep/distributor here in Ontario. And yet another will be with a guy in the US who works for one of the products we sell but has been in the industry for so long that he has a thousand stories to tell. And that’s just the start. I may not do one every month, but I promise they will be fun reads. I’ll also be updating you on those boutique strings I installed on my acoustic from Martin…you know the titanium strings. I may get into trying a few other products as well and giving you my take on them…if you have ideas for this, let me know.
For now, please take a look at the newly minted website, I’m sure you will like it www.solomusicgear.com. Stay warm out there and look forward to the warmer weather….I’ll let you know what the Solo team sees in Anaheim at the 2026 NAMM Show.
